Chocolate is a superfood and the higher the cocoa count the better! All good chocolates start with cocoa butter, and this bar gets its sweetness from vanilla beans and demerara sugar which has natural occurring molasses giving it a slight caramel flavour. The great thing about having a good quality chocolate is that smaller portions are satisfying for longer - usually anyway!
Benefits and claims: Dark chocolate is a powerful antioxidant, improves blood flow including to the brain, lowers blood pressure and improves several important risk factors for heart disease. It also contains stimulants like caffeine and theobromine, but is unlikely to keep you awake at night as the amount of caffeine is very small compared to coffee.
Features: A quality dark chocolate with a high cocoa content is actually quite nutritious in fibre, iron, magnesium, potassium, zinc and selenium.
